“Information Technologies for Intelligent Data Analysis, Modeling, and Management in Biomedical Informatics”
Scientific supervisor: Ievgen Nastenko, Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences (PhD), Doctor of Biological Sciences (Dr. Sc.).
He has been working in the field of biomedical cybernetics since 1981. He became a Candidate of Technical Sciences (PhD) and a Doctor of Biological Sciences (Dr. Sc.) in 2008. In 2011, he was awarded the academic title of Professor of the Department of Biomedical Cybernetics.
The scientific work of Ievgen Nastenko is distinguished by awards:
1993 (Arles, France) – for the best scientific work in the field of safety of artificial blood circulation, the result of which was the world’s first computer simulator of artificial blood circulation. 5th European Congress on Extracorporeal Circulation Technologies.
2003 (Funchal, Portugal) – an award for the most original work on modeling capillary blood flow and systemic oxygen transport. 10th European Congress on Extracorporeal Circulation Technologies.
2006 – diploma of the Presidium of the Academy of Medical Sciences for the best fundamental work “To study nonlinear hierarchical interactions of regulatory mechanisms in the cardiovascular system to ensure the transport function of the blood circulation”.
2012 – diploma of the Presidium of the Academy of Medical Sciences for the best fundamental work “To study the problematic issues of nonlinear dynamics of the circulatory system in normal and in violations, methods of correction”.
2021 – diploma of the Presidium of the Academy of Medical Sciences for the best fundamental work “To study the adaptive mechanisms of the large circle of blood circulation to the changes in kinematics of the left ventricle in myocardial pathology”.
In 2021, he was awarded the M.M. Amosov medal by the National Medical Academy of Ukraine for achievements in the field of fundamental research.
During the existence of the scientific school, 5 PhD thesis’s were defended to obtain the PhD degree (Candidate of Technical Sciences) in the fields of 05.11.17 “Medical devices and systems” and 05.13.09 “Medical and biological informatics and cybernetics”.
• PhD Thesis for obtaining the PhD degree (Candidate of Technical Sciences) on the topic “Adaptive processing and analysis of computer tomography images of juvenile angiofibromas of the skull base” in the specialty 05.11.17 – biological and medical devices and systems, defended by Svitlana Alkhymova in 2013 at the specialized academic council D 26.002.19 of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. Scientific supervisor is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Valentin Yatsenko.
• PhD Thesis for obtaining the PhD degree (Candidate of Technical Sciences) on the topic “Information technology for decision support in the surgical treatment of patients with ischemic heart disease” in the specialty 05.13.09 – medical and biological informatics and cybernetics, defended by A. Yakovenko in 2015 at the specialized academic council D 26.171.03 of the International Research and Training Center for Information Technologies and Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Scientific supervisor is Doctor of Biological Sciences, Candidate of Technical Sciences (PhD), Senior Researcher Ievgen Nastenko.

Scientific supervisor is Doctor of Biological Sciences, Candidate of Technical Sciences (PhD), Senior Researcher Ievgen Nastenko.
• PhD Thesis for obtaining the PhD degree (Candidate of Technical Sciences) on the topic “Information technology for studying the state of the cardiovascular system of a human based on the composition of exhaled air” in the specialty 05.13.09 – medical and biological informatics and cybernetics, defended by Viktoriia Yakymchuk in 2015 at the specialized academic council D 26.171.03 at the International Research and Training Center for Information Technologies and Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Scientific supervisor is Candidate of Technical Sciences (PhD), Associate Professor Viktor Zubchuk.
• PhD Thesis for obtaining the PhD degree (Candidate of Technical Sciences) on the topic “Information technology for assessing the course of epilepsy based on the complexity indicators of the electroencephalogram” in the specialty 05.13.09 – medical and biological informatics and cybernetics, defended by Oksana Biloshytska in 2019 at the specialized academic council D 26.171.03 of the International Research and Training Center for Information Technologies and Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
