In 1972, Leonid graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with a degree in “Automation of Thermal Power Processes.”
In 1982, he defended his Ph.D. thesis “Issues of Statistical Recognition and Their Application in Signal Processing for Thermographic Analysis” in the specialty 05.13.01 “Technical Cybernetics and Information Theory.”
In 2004, he defended his doctoral thesis “Methods and Instrumental Means of Assessing the State of Objects Based on Signals with Locally Concentrated Features” in the specialty 05.13.01 “Automated Control Systems and Advanced Information Technologies.”
Scientific Titles:
- Senior Research Scientist in the specialty 05.13.01 “Control in Technical Systems” (1991),
- Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematical Modeling of Economic Systems (2002),
- Professor of the Department of Biomedical Cybernetics (2018).
He has been working at the Department of Biomedical Cybernetics since 01.09.2014.
Teaching courses – “Methods and Systems of Artificial Intelligence” and “Theory of Alternative Choice.” Supervises bachelor’s and master’s thesis projects.
Area of scientific interests – intelligent information technologies, computer methods, and tools for processing complex-shaped biomedical signals.
Author of over 300 scientific works, including 7 monographs, 2 textbooks, and 50 inventions protected by patents in Ukraine, the USA, Japan, England, Germany, and other countries.
Member of the editorial boards of the journals “Cybernetics and Computer Engineering,” “Control Systems and Computers,” “Clinical Informatics and Telemedicine,” and “Clinical and Preventive Medicine.”
Awarded a Certificate of Merit from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and an Award from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine “For the Preparation of Scientific Succession.” Holds the title “Best Inventor of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.” Winner of the All-Ukrainian competition “Invention of the Year – 2015.”
